On The Money with Peter Hebert, “Flash Protest – Bank of America, Brunswick, Maine,” July 1, 2011

Filed under: Commentary — Peter Hebert @ 3:09 PM

According to You Tube notes: “Maimers from across the state gather in Brunswick to pay a surprise visit to the local Bank of America branch.” Protestors chanted, “What does democracy look like? This is what democracy looks like.” At issue was Bank of America’s many wrongful foreclosures as a result of predatory loans and foreclosure actions without the supporting documentation. The group prayed for forgiveness … something above and beyond what many other Americans feel is appropriate for those at the helms of corporations like Bank of America.

On The Money with Peter Hebert, “Inside Job,” July 1, 2011

Filed under: Commentary — Peter Hebert @ 11:06 AM

Sony Pictures produced an award winning documentary film in 2010 titled “Inside Job.” It’s about the global economic crisis of 2008. As film director Charles H. Ferguson described the film in a Charlie Rose interview, it’s about “the systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption.”

In the words of CodeHVideos, “A must see, ‘Inside Job’ provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse. The film traces the rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia.”

My books Mortgaged and Armed (2010), The Collapse of Home Prices and the Foreclosure Crisis (2011), and Predator Nation (2011 or 2012) are about government enabled fraud and predation where customers are transformed into victims and ordinary investors reduced to duped suckers. I explain several solutions and means to fight back.
